About the Fallen Hero ask, unfortunately the First Fallen Hero Rebirth was released in 2018 if I'm not wrong so the dashingdon demo Is no longer available but if you check it on Choice of Games you can play the firsts chapters for free, same thing with the second book Fallen Hero Retribution (the demo of It was up on dashingdon until last year and it was almost 4/5 of the book).

I personally love it, it's one of the if in which the most important route is yours (MC) and every ROs could be very well a MC for how well rounded are written. Fallen Hero Rebirth is "short" almost an introduction to the situation and Retribution (in which you could have 4 major different ending all of which will continue on the next book Revelations). And there isn't the childhood friends route but Ortega-MC could have been bbf or flirting-almost-together (and in that case Ortega was, and still Is, in love with MC) before the start of the story in Rebirth.

Well rounded ROs in an if????????? COUNT ME IN. Those types are very few and far between.

I mean, I don't just only love childhood friends route. If there is a best friend who is romanceable, you can bet I am already on my way over. Friends-to-lovers are my favorite trope because there is already an established connection between the MC and the RO. There is interest in each other, platonic or otherwise, and they already care for each other. All you need is to upgrade to the next level LOL ;)

The thing about playing the first three chapters of a paid game is that you are left on a cliffhanger once the chapters are up. You get engrossed, but then suddenly the "oh darn that was already the three chapters--click here to buy the full game!" notification button comes up. So I feel I would get attached and then heartbroken.

It happened once and I was crushed. So I don't do it anymore.

Oral tradition of storytelling predates written ones by millennias, and honestly, which one you like is just a personal preference.

The actual difference is

when listening, you have no idea how to write characters’ names

when reading, you have no idea how to pronounce characters’ names
